She was born on October 1, 1922, in the small oil field town of Sour Lake, Texas, to the late John Spencer Siau and Euphemia “Dot” Palmer Siau. Margie graduated salutatorian of her high school class at Hull-Daisetta High School in Texas where she received many academic and civic awards.
